  • Further to my report 4118107, this cycleway remains unsatisfactory. Only a flail has been used. From the bridge over the brook (first photo with railings) up to Ecton, over half of this neglected path has been covered by ever encroaching earth and vegetation. Two cyclists with a combined approach speed of 30mph cannot possibly pass safely. It now needs a lorry followed by a front loader shovel to scrape off the inches thick overlay and remove it to restore the path to its original width.

  • As at 16 May 2024, this still has not been done. The pavement is as narrow as 30cm in places. As per your service level agreement, 26 weeks was up on the 06 Feb 2024. This is now 14 weeks overdue.

  • As per the comment on the 3rd August 2023, the path has now been cleared with a flail so the nettles are no longer encroaching the path, however the path itself has still not been cleared and is still as narrow in places. When cycling along this path I have to ride next to the kerb, but because I'm on a pavement, the traffic on the road does not give space as if I was on the road and they pass me very closely.
