Parking on Town Green

Reported via desktop anonymously at 13:29, Sun 11 June 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4657215.

Our registered Town Green is protected by legislation.

At some time since registration, OCC has dug up the green outside St Mary's C of E Infants School & built a car park for staff at the school. That, I believe, caused harm to the town green which would likely be an offence under section 29 of the Commons Act 1876, unless the change was authorised by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Did OCC obtain such consent from the Secretary of State prior to digging up our town green & tarmacking over it?

If not, will you please reinstate the town green to it's former condition & ask your staff to park elsewhere.

Council ref: ENQ23964825
