Grass verge cutting required

Reported via desktop in the Grass needs cutting category anonymously at 18:06, Friday 9 June 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4652874.

As you drive into Ridgeway Crescent Gardens from Tubbenden Lane, there are grass verges either side. These are looking incredibly unkempt, some of the weeds and longer grass are waist height! Please could they be cut right up to the trees and not just around the edges like last time? Also, the grass verges along Tubbenden Lane need cutting as well.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

  • The Council’s approach to grass cutting and tree protection management was reviewed in April 2022. Further to this, our grass cutting teams are under instruction to leave a 0.5m circle around tree bases to create a safe buffer regardless of the size of the tree, to prevent mechanical damage. The uncut buffer zone also provides insects a natural habitat and is based on the Bromley Council biodiversity policy and new wildlife friendly vegetation management approach implemented across Bromley’s verges.

We have passed this onto the relevant teams to perform general maintenance of grass cutting in the area.
