  • Please can our recreation ground be cut. I can no longer walk across it without the utmost difficulty. I understand Sparrows Den is in a similar state. I am elderly and would love to take a walk across the rec but it is such hard work that I now keep to the streets. There are dogs who can't manage it and the risk of tics is high. What has happened to our surroundings? Used to be well kept and lovely.

  • Thank you for your report. We apologise for the length of grass at present. Due to the rapid grass growth so far this year, our Parks Management and Grounds Maintenance Service Provider, idverde, is behind schedule on their grass cutting programme. A recovery plan is currently in place which includes securing additional resources and replacement machinery with a view to having any outstanding areas attended to shortly
