Illegal camping and parking
Reported anonymously at 16:36, Tue 8 April 2014
Sent to Horsham District Council and West Sussex County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 463605.
There are two graffiti covered caravans and a white van with solar panels. The set up calls itself Dragon Video and stoves are advertised. There is a rainbow flag which marks their presence. These are parked and camping illegally and appear to be advertising screening films via solar energy. They were first camped on the Steyning by-pass and have taken up residence here. This is illegal trading and camping and is a distraction and an eyesore. Please can they be removed asap?

The pin marker is misleading as it appears to have moved after I clicked onto the map. The 'travellers' - if that is what they are - are parked on waste ground on the mini roundabout which adjoins the A283 A2037 - where the woodcarver was last summer.

This little illegal enterprise has now moved about 100 yards down the A283 (Shoreham direction) near the bus stop. They have now erected a windbreak - to hide the stoves, perhaps? The 'stoves' on sale look totally unsafe and are basic welded metal so I presume no licence and no responsibility for safety? There is now a large notice announcing to the public that it will cost £10,000 to get them evicted. This is threatening and a form of blackmail. They should be prosecuted as they seem to play the system by moving several hundred yards along each time they are challenged. As tax payers and council tax payers I would strongly ask that the law is enforced forthwith even if that means impounding or scrapping their vans and dubious equipment.

Another caravan has appeared and is camping overnight alongside the ones already there.
