  • I had a near miss today at this very dangerous crossroads at the top end of High Street. There was a serious accident there last year; another couple in the past five years. The lack of clear Give Way lines means that in this location with POOR sideways visibility, you cannot tell where to actually stop. Whilst trying to judge your position, the nose of your vehicle creeps forward and you are vulnerable to vehicles suddenly approaching you from the shadows (sometimes too fast to stop - crunch!). A YEAR LONG fix period is completely unacceptable and leaves the Unitary Council open to prosecution, with the next crash just waiting to happen. This NOTICE TO ACTION will be recorded in the Parish Council minutes. Gary Denby, Clerk to Preston Capes Parish Council.
