Further to inquiry, LBB has no works to the highway scheduled nor has the council authorised any works where indicated o/s 108 The Grove, West Wickham. Please can the reporter provide more information such as the identity of the organisation advising of works to be completed in 10 days and what the works are in aid of?

We apologise for the delay in update regarding this project. The works had been postponed due to underground utility services being in the way and we are in the process of looking at a new proposal which would keep the water on the Highway and stop it falling back into the properties. Riney will send a letter out shortly with a new programme date for these works.

I’m at a loss as to what is going on. I spoke to a council representative some weeks ago who assured me that remedial work was to be undertaken and that we would be notified as to the timescale. To date, no notification has been received. That said, some days ago, the area concerned was coned off, temporary road signs were erected and a large storage container was left in the road. Today (a week later) I returned home to find that the road signs and the storage container have been removed. Can someone please tell me what is going on. Thank you.

Thank you for your enquiry. The works at this location have been delayed and will now start the first week of November. The storage container and signs mentioned in the previous comments have nothing to do with the drainage works and were for third party utility works. Revised letters with dates and working locations will be sent to residents affected shortly. In short the new work will look at installing Aco kerbs to help move the water from the carriageway as we can not put new gullies at this location due to shallow underground services.
