Kelsey Park (Town Centre gate) has no name plate

Reported via mobile in the Request for Park Infrastructure category anonymously at 00:46, Friday 26 May 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 35 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 4598062.

Kelsey Park (Town Centre gate) has no name plate (Kelsey Park Rd entrance).

This prestigious Beckenham Park with ornate gates appears completely anonymous.

Please provide it with a name plate so people know it is there to visit.

Sometimes the gates are kept open, so a name plate might be better positioned on the adjoining railings.

The opening times have also gone missing, which related to different months of the year. Please reinstate.

Also the wooden painted name board a few metres inside the park is in a sad peeling condition. Please repaint.

This internal board is not visible from the external public realm, so an external parjk name sign is still desirable.

  • Also, having looked at my photo, I see the symmetry of the prestigious wrought iron gate is spoiled by the hedge growth to the left (viewed from the road) obscuring the left hand gate pier. Please trim the hedge to reveal the pier and restore the symmetry. Some Relocation of notices cluttering the gates, to an in-park noticeboard, would also improve the appearance of these splendid gates and pride in Kelsey Park.
