Pedestrian Lights Queens Drive/Haggerston Road

My name is Leigh Davies and I live at 1 Mauretania Road, Walton. I have contacted our local councillors to voice my concerns over the pedestrian traffic lights on Queens Drive/Haggerston Road. My concern is that vehicles do not always stop for these lights causing a danger to pedestrians. Vehicles will either speed up for an amber light or pass through a red light. I have contacted both Councillor John Jenning and Councillor Bernard Packenham as it falls under their ward. I have also contacted Sam East, although it does not fall under his ward it does impact on children and families crossing this section of road who attend Northcote Primary which does fall under his ward. I have also contacted the Head Teacher of Alsop High School as pupils attending this school use this crossing daily. What I would like to see is that the lights are updated to detect drivers who speed up for an amber light and issue them with a fine and or points. Drivers going through a red light would also be issued with the same punishment. Currently drivers don't always take notice and without deterrent. With this stretch of road being dual carriage way motorists are quite often exceeding the 30mph speed limit too. This is an accident waiting to happen. Any help you can give would be much appreciated
