No Parking Cones needed in Goddington Lane j/w Court Rd,Park Side

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 09:46, Wednesday 17 May 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 1 hour, 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 4564306.

Following my report last Sunday which is shown as fixed, it is not as no cones have been put in place except around the entrance to Goddington Park which is not what I requested. When the park is busy with users ie Sat & Sun mornings when there are several matches being played, lazy motorist's with no common sense are parking at the start of Goddington Lane on both sides in front of the roadworks sign & traffic lights so traffic waiting to leave Goddington Lane have to queue in the middle of the lane, Then traffic which turns into the lane from Court Rd cannot enter which then stops traffic from moving freely along Court Rd which is what I found last weekend. So all that is needed is No Parking cones to be placed in front of the roadworks sign both sides of the Lane. Please let me know is this is a problem and could you also advise why the park carpark is still locked when you have put a Height barrier in place to prevent unauthorised vehicles using the carpark

  • Thank you for your enquiry, we can confirm that following a unauthorised encampment in the borough and based on intelligence from the Metropolitan Police Service, the Council took the decision to lock vehicular access gates to parks and greenspaces in the borough to safeguard those sites from damage to infrastructure and turf, and also prevent potential fly tipping. Our sites have since reopened their vehicular access.
