Trench type pothole along width of the road

Reported via mobile anonymously at 09:13, Wed 17 May 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cherwell District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4564121.

This trench type pothole runs across the whole width of the road on a slight bend in the road and is extremely dangerous when you hit it. It is worse on the side heading towards Middleton Stoney from Upper Heyford. It is very hard to avoid it and I seriously worry that this is going to damage my car.

Updates

  • This sunken trench has caused at least one vehicle to lose control and leave the road, ending up in the hedge. I was almost thrown from my motorbike the other day going over it. THIS IS DANGEROUS!! A sunken trench on a bend in a 60mph should be a priority, it’s only a matter of time before someone is hurt or worse.

  • This is getting worse and is still a massive issue, people going towards Middleton Stoney are forced onto the other side of the road as to not damage their vehicle
