Railing line, pavement, gullies need de-weeded

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 14:33, Tuesday 16 May 2023

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4561534.

Long grass / heavy weeds cut for first time in 21 months. Railing line strimmed but from inside only. With the lack of maintenance, the clean sheugh along the entire railing line overgown again of course. Following the grass cutting, the (safe) pavement side of the railings now needs cleared of all the resulting weed/grass overhang as does the pavement and road gulleys in Victoria Park Drive South and, I suspect, in adjoining streets such as Elm St etc. All of which a case of the unintended consequences of 'naturalisation' perhaps? Thanks.

Updates

  • As seen and, yes, the side streets are weed-ridden too.

  • Small sprayer vehicle out today spraying the street gutters (thanks) but I did not see the railing line being done. We'll know it a few weeks when the weeds start turning yellow, or not.
