Trouble vehicles leaving & entering Park side of Goddington Lane

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction to Highway category anonymously at 12:31, Sun 14 May 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4552053.

Why have no Parking Cones been placed in Goddington Lane at j/w Court Rd on the Park/Bowling Club side while the roadworks traffic lights are in use? Park users are parking both sides of the entrance to Goddington Lane as the park car park has been locked for a few weeks causing problems for vehicles waiting at the lights to leave and vehicles entering. I cannot understand how no one could see this would happen, and on Sat & Sun morning when there are football matches in the park its an accident waiting to happen. Also why has the park car park been locked without notice for so long? Is it to keep unauthorised large vehicles out and if that is the case what was the point of spending all that money a few years ago to put the heavy duty height restriction metal barriers in if the council are still going to keep it locked

  • Thank you for your enquiry, we can confirm that following a unauthorised encampment in the borough and based on intelligence from the Metropolitan Police Service, the Council took the decision to lock vehicular access gates to parks and greenspaces in the borough to safeguard those sites from damage to infrastructure and turf, and also prevent potential fly tipping. Our sites have since reopened their vehicular access.
