Traffic light synchronization cannot cope with traffic

Reported via mobile in the Other Road Issues category anonymously at 18:43, Fri 12 May 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4547961.

Due to the increase of traffic to and from Barton's Rd onto Petersfield Rd from the new housing estates etc, the traffic piles up on the sliproad backing all the way up to the junction near the Heron pub, and beyond.

The lights only go green for long enough for a about 4 cars to get through. This is not enough considering the increased level of traffic.

The lights at the junction with Barton's need to be changed to allow more cars through going right into Barton's.

This is made even worse when it is match day at Havant FC, or currently with the temporary 4 way traffic lights near the church

This will get even worse if the proposed development of the old SSE site does ahead as well.

It's a easy fix that won't cost much. Do it!
