Missed opportunity for zebra crossings at Petts Wood

Reported via mobile in the Sign Missing/Damaged category anonymously at 08:27, Thu 11 May 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4540370.

Hi,

Congratulations for the repaving of Petts Wood high street, which is now nearly complete and has made a big difference to the look and driving experience. Many neighbours have noticed that the original road lines have been paited in the very same location as previously, indicating that the council haven’t considered the long requested zebra crossings on the West side.

At the moment there is only only zebra crossing in the whole road (in front of Morrisons). This is a very frequented road and drivers hardly give way to pedestrians, making the crossing dangerous. Can you please consider repainting allowing for one or two zebra crossings? I would be happy to contact Bromley Traffic planning officers if you provide contact details. Thanks in advance. E

  • 100% agreed that a pedestrian crossing is required towards the library end of Queensway - the high speed of cars there makes it extremely dangerous to cross for anyone especially children and elderly - we cannot wait until a child is injured or killed before we act.
