Traffic light sequencing

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:16, Tue 2 May 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4506877.

The traffic light sequencing on the m5 jct 4 roundabout seems to have been changed recently causing huge amounts of traffic. Lights on the roundabout aren't letting enough vehicles through and round the roundabout at once, meaning queues block lanes - this is 100x worse when lorries are involved as they take up more room. Queues then build up on all approaches as a result. This wasn't a problem up until a few weeks ago.

  • Traffic light on nearside appears not to be working ......no red, amber or green. Have travelled this route 3 times over the last few weeks and lights still appear to be u/s. It is last set of lights prior to entering the slip road onto the M5 southbound. In the dark it extremely easy to miss the offside set of lights prior to the junction
