Blocked Drain & Sewage Getting Into River

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 06:52, Thu 27 April 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4490940.

The penny slot drain that runs in front of The House and other homes at SP11 6AY, is blocked.

However, there is sewage getting into the penny slot drain, that is coming up from a BT manhole further up the road. This is also getting into the river which is a major environmental issue.

A solution is needed, as the drains need to be cleaned, as I have an 18 month old child and pets that have to cross this area getting into my home.

  • The situation has got worse, there is a constant stream running in front of the houses, which has never happened. This has been going on for over 4 weeks now.

I have had to build a ramp to prevent my dog and toddler from stepping in it.

  • Not fixed, no communication from Highways either

  • No change, slotted drain is full of mud, and not functioning as it should. Also a new chamber needs to be created to help the water drain off the highway quicker, as it has been very slow since they filled in the old chamber with concrete.

  • Water from the BT manhole has stopped. However, the slotted drain is full of mud and needs rodding and jetting.

  • No change the slotted drain is still full of mud.

A new gully needs to be instated outside 2 Jubilee Villas to compensate for the gully that was filled with concrete two years ago.

  • THIS IS STILL BLOCKED! No one has even attempted to clean this for nearly 6months! How many times do I have to request this, and be quite frankly ignored! This is a major flooding issue for the village, action is required NOW!
