Whole of Crescent, it cracking under the pressure of bin lorry repeatedly mounting pavement

Reported via mobile in the Potholes category anonymously at 20:15, Mon 17 April 2023

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4453143.

Every couple of years the council have to repair this, as crescent not wide enough for bin lorry every week, pavement edge stones start to pop out and become uneven, and because lorry mounts pavement, the weight it tipped on to edge of road edging the cobbles. This is the longest time it has taken to be sorted, and also the worst. A spade full of sticky tar stones won't help this, as bin lorry will be back at the weekend.

Updates

  • This hole in the road is being caused by the bin/recycle lorries, the weight of the lorries has caused the kerb to move cracking the tarmac and now it is pushing tarmac further and deeper because of the crack, the whole crescent kerb is uneven because of this, there is 18 houses, and 14 pensioners live in these houses. My husband 68yrs has filled this hole with earth several times, but it doesn't last, we have put a police cone there, but bin lorries runs right over it as its at edge of payment, it is affecting people from reversing off driveways, causing us to be too close to other cars. When any of my neighbours or myself fall, I will supply this info for a claim, which is not being addressed. When I return from holiday I will update the photo. I am one of the youngest pensioners at 65, and because we don't complain enough, I feel we are being over looked, as well as the hundreds of potholes in others streets.
