Drain has evidence of blockage

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4435680.

The drain directly outside my house at the kerbside (617) is blocked as during recent rain the water was overflowing above the grate and in to the street. Has been problem for approx 3-4 weeks. Thanks

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Having inspected the gully on the above mentioned road; Harelstone Road, we can confirm work is scheduled within the next 26 weeks to rectify the problem. We will endeavour to do it as quickly as possible. But if a flooding emergency occurs, call 0300 126 7000 for West Northamptonshire Council between 9.00 and 17.00. Outside of these hours, please ring 01604 651074.

  • This needs action asap, the levels of flooding are rising worse and worse. This was in the morning following rain overnight. The level had fallen before I took the picture. Please get onto asap as the road is deeply flooded, starting to edge across the path.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Ongoing - We did attend and clear the gullies on 3rd October 2023. Upon leaving, the gullies had no blockages present.

  • There is no way the gullies were cleared properly on 3rd October 2023 … the drain blockage and flooding has not changed. It needs doing properly and asap. When can the work be done, now we are going into winter?
