Cycle Path Road Marking Worn Away: Girdlestone Rd/Slade

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 19:12, Wed 12 April 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4431477.

Yesterday my husband was cycling from the Cowley direction towards Headington on the Slade cycle path. At the Girdlestone Road/Slade junction a small maroon car reg 1157YVW (?) wanted to turn left from the Slade into Girdlestone Road. My husband continued on the cycleway. The driver, furious, instead drove onto the cycle path on the Slade and stopped in front of my husband (aged 75), blocking the cycle path. The driver abused him, calling him a 'fucking prick'. You see from the photo the road markings, clearly indicating the cyclist's right of way on the cycle path, have been worn away/are covered by puddles. PLEASE RE-PAINT THESE ROAD MARKINGS - they are the only defence a cyclist on the cycle path has against selfish and ignorant drivers who do not know the Highway Code.
