Fixed
7 potholes
Reported via desktop in the Road Defect category anonymously at 16:43, Sunday 9 April 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4417176.
I agree with an earlier report, from 3 March. There are many deep potholes around this very busy junction and crossing. They are getting deeper by the day and yes, there will be an accident soon as a cyclist/motorbiker crashes here or cars swerve to avoid these holes. They need to be fixed urgently.

Can we know when to expect the work to be done? Driving around potholes to avoid damage to low profile wheels can be dangerous.

Thank you for your further comments regarding this issue. Bromley are aware of the significant volume of works raised and outstanding with our contractor and we are continuing to monitor and liaise with them over this outstanding schedule of works. Our Officers are not able to give precise timeframes to individual jobs at this moment but are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues. We will continue to work with our contractor to ensure that all outstanding jobs are addressed as quickly as they are able.

Can you please explain why these potholes still have not been filled. Your contractor has been filling in potholes on side roads. Which cannot be as important as this main road junction.

Why are these potholes at a junction of a main road being ignored when others in (side) Tower Road have been marked with white paint for remedial work.
Does someone have to be seriouly injured before rresidents see some action?

This is constantly being reported. Rather than closing off the jobs, can we please have a completion date? Thanks

Escalated to Local Councillors. To determine when they are likely to be fixed.

Bromley Council what are we paying our council tax for. Your latest update is an insult to one’s iteligence. This matter has failed to be completed within anywhere near its acceptable timescale. You cannot keep saying your contractor has significant levels of outstanding work. It’s obvious that they do not have sufficient labour to complete works to your agreed timescales, I hope you have a penalty clause in there contract. It is clear that this busy road junction has not been prioritised as your contractors have be filling pot holes in Cloomore Avenue. Last week there was a major traffic accident just yards from this road junction, that closed the road for several hours. You need to intervene and request immediate action. Monitoring is not acceptable.

Can you confirm the likely completion date? Will this be within 10 or 35 days? As per the targets or longer. Thanks

Still not rectified and extremely hazardous. I would suggest that, if the contractors are not able to keep up with the workload, additional contractors should be taken on by the council. The repairs that I have seen about the place that have been done are often poor quality spodges of tarmac, which won't last very long. Also contractors come along and do some of the marked problems but not others, which does not seem very cost-effective.

A week after the last resident update on this dangerous and frankly embarassing collection of potholes, and nothing! Hire more contractors with our ridiculously high council taxes and get this fixed, please! I sincerely hope nobody will experience injury or worse because of your inability to do your jobs.

Are these likely to be fixed before the end of the Summer 2023, in line with recent public comments made? Thanks

Both this section of road AND the junction of The Highway / Warren Road are in an appalling condition. This report has now been published for almost 6 weeks and still no fix!
As for the Council’s responses to the ongoing reports , please stop regurgitating the same stock answer.
