Flooding pathway

Reported via mobile in the Public Right of Way footpath category anonymously at 16:56, Tuesday 4 April 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4398491.

Public pathway that connects The Grove and Sutherland Road in Biggin Hill. The lack of maintenance, drainage and general poor condition of the pathway has led to a river flow of water whenever it rains. When it is heavy rain this flow of water then floods into my private property.

The rain water runs down the hill of my garden and floods quite considerably. I believe the council has failed to take proper care of the public pathway causing this. I have video of my garden and the public pathway when it rains and have made a make shift damn on the pathway to try and prevent some of the water but it is akin to turning up at the aftermath of a hurricane with a dustpan and brush.

Asset ID: FP271

  • No drainage has been completed so the next time it rains heavily, the pathway will continue to flood and cause damage to private property. Continued failure to knowingly allow poor maintenance to damage private people will lead to potential legal action

  • No work has been completed on the site and I have not been contacted. The issue will continue to occur on each heavy downpour through woeful maintenance of public pathway. It also causes the area to be very dangerous.
