Pothole around a drain on the main roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 21:14, Sun 2 April 2023

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4389026.

There is a very large and deep pothole forming around the drain and it’s becoming extremely dangerous when going around the roundabout in the inside lane. This was developing months ago and seem to have been tarmaced over the whole area including the drain, but as cars and lorries have been going around this all the tarmac has come off uncovering the drain and then a very large hole to the side has developed. It will not be long until the width of a car tyre could easily get caught in this and cause serious damage or injury.

Updates

  • Here we are a wet week later and the drain is now an island in a massive gaping void of missing tarmac. This needs urgent attention now before someone is hurt due to avoiding action.
