Unfinished fence on A259 on side of main road.

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:15, Fri 31 March 2023

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4382583.

Downs Way A259 Angmering East Preston West Sussex. We moved into our new home 2 years ago. This is near the opening of Angmering school crossing. Whilst putting up with the constant noise and interference night and day for 2 years +. It is becoming obvious to those that live in this area are now nearing the end of this continuous disruption. However, we are very concerned that after the works there are a number of ‘ugly’ points’ that have remained unfinished! From the zebra crossing which is rarely working efficiently.,where the Angmering school children cross, to this estate has not been completed! Will it take a very nasty accident to occur before anything is done?! There is a huge gap of unfinished fencing which was promised to ‘mask’ us seeing the A259! The chaps who were working there said that the fence will all be completed. The panels were stackedthere ready, reassuring us we won’t feel like we are living on a motorway! The traffic does not adhere to the 40 mph signs! Now they have planted a row of very small trees which won’t be of any benefit to those people who live here now as there are many elderly people here and these tiny trees will be if no benefit to us! Residents here are becoming more and more grieved and let down by the final ending of this ‘Mish mash!’ Please on behalf of all our local residents and families, FINISH fence panels to obscure traffic, pollution, noise and the MOTORWAY views!

  • No this hasn’t been fixed! The council are now saying it won’t be done and they will only do some listening to the noise at some time later in the year! I’m afraid this will never been done! So unfair!
