Potholes

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4373067.

The entire length of Hatch Lane is riddled with potholes. They are particularly bad at both ends of the lane and need repairing before there is an accident. Particularly dangerous for cyclists.

  • The response received is not sufficient. My next step will be to provide photos of the dangerous potholes. I would also remind the authority of their statutory obligation under S41 Highways Act 1980 to maintain the highway to a safe standard for all road users. Please revisit this: next steps will be to initiate Section 56 proceedings.

    Here are pictures of some of the potholes on Hatch Lane. There are about 20 but there is a limit to the number of pictures I can upload. These holes are 40mm deep and over 300mm wide. They are dangerous. Hampshire highways claims it has inspected the road but this cannot be the case. Please could Hampshire highways vonfirm it is responsible for maintaining this stretch of highway and provide a date by when the issues will be fixed?
