We are pleased to confirm that work is now complete, and your report has been closed. State changed to: Fixed
Nothing was done in spite of this incorrect report. The road surface remained as was reported. This morning a van has gone over the junction and ended up in the field below claiming he didn't see any road markings and when braking on the bridge his van just skidded. It is considered locally Chevrons would solve the problem, the accidents invariably occur during darkness and rightly or wrongly drivers seem not to see the existing warning signs as many are following Sat. Nav. instructions.

Mill Lane, Moston has been the scene of numerous accidents in the last few months when vehicles have driven over the canal bridge but failed to turn left or right after the Give Way junction and ended up in the field below where the fencing has now been destroyed. New signage was installed in 2009 as a result of a number of similar accidents at this location and did seem to work to some extent for sometime, but the request by Moston Parish Council for Chevrons and a grippier road surface was not accepted. We now have a situation where the direction signs over the bridge have been damaged, the Give Way Markings on the road have almost worn away as has the Slow sign 120 from the junction and there are accidents happening on a regular basis. The situation requires looking at again with a degree of urgency.
