New left only lane on roundabout approach

Reported via mobile anonymously at 07:45, Wed 29 March 2023

Sent to Runnymede Borough Council and Surrey County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4370862.

This road has just been repainted to include a left turn only arrow in the left lane. This has increased the traffic in the area considerably during rush hour, which now backs up beyond the roundabout to Addlestone (which is a nightmare as it is when the crossing is down!) it is perfectly safe to go straight on from both left and right hand lanes, as there are two lanes heading towards the M3 junction. Most traffic is heading for the M3 so it makes sense to make it available from both lanes. If this arrow was changed to a left and straight arrow the traffic and therefore pollution would be greatly alleviated.

Updates

  • Agree completely. Today, Tuesday 18 April, at 3.15pm the traffic was queuing back past St Georges College roundabout, which was completely clogged up making vehicles back up into central Addlestone. Unbelievable that this is caused just because of an arrow painted on the road at Addlestone Moor roundabout.
