Toad signs

Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 15:01, Tue 28 March 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4368963.

I logged a report on 04/02/23 for the two toad signs on Gorley road. One is at this spot and damaged, and one is further up just past the junction with ellingham drive and the pole is there and the sign is gone. I have had emails from fix my street about these signs on 6th Feb, 8th Feb, 19th Feb, 4th March and 7th March. Action was said to be scheduled but nothing has happened yet. Volunteers are in the road after dusk picking toads and newts up and there are no signs in place to warn drivers on this 40mph road that volunteers and the animals are likely to be there. This is dangerous. We wear hi vis and only get out of our cars (with hazard lights on) for the shortest possible time to pick up the creatures but the road is narrow and has an s bend. Please put the signs up asap to keep us safe as well as road users who may skid on a toad if they run it over. Thankyou
