Light not working

Reported via desktop in the Light Not Working category by Richard Cracknell at 21:32, Monday 27 March 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4366249.

Street light (LED type) not working. With so few lamps in the road this makes a big difference to the darkness of the road and illuminates the three houses and the turning area in the cul de sac.

Asset ID: Q-5-4

  • We have investigated and identified there is an issue with the electricity supply for this asset. Bromley Council have contacted UK Power Networks and asked them to schedule works to restore this fault.

  • Just to say that, last evening, I noticed a small amount of light in the top unit of the lamp: not sure if all the LEDs were alight, they were flickering at first then steady, but certainly not enough to cast any illumination at ground level. There must, I imagine, therefore be an electricity supply but maybe it is intermittent or otherwise faulty. I saw that the contractor checked the unit with his electrical tester so he clearly knows what the problem is. Neighbours would be grateful for swift resolution as it is really very dark at this end of the close without this lamp!

  • Indeed, the lamp is now functional. Not bad to sort it in 3 weeks given the need for UKPN to attend and dig a big, deep hole to locate the fault. Just hope they will come back soon, fill the hole and reinstate the footway as all the services to several houses are exposed currently. Thanks for arranging repair.
