Incidentally, I travelled on the 358 bus route both ways from Shortlands Station via Park Langley, Eden Park, Elmers End, Beckenham, Penge, Croydon Rd. The roads are in appalling condition with many potholes especially centre line gouges and holes where previously patched. How has it come to this? The bus was rattling and peoples spines are jarred and shaken around. This must damage vehicle suspensions and have a safety impact re. stopping distance and steering control as well as just being unpleasant to use. I do not recall a particularly bad winter. Has the road maintenance budget just been halted or drastically cut?

Works to repair the pothole at this location and others in this vicinity have already been raised. LBB is aware of the pothole situation across the entire borough and is working hard with its contractor to address them all as soon as possible.
