Footpath covered in mud and verge churned up

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:51, Sat 25 March 2023

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4357017.

The grass verge beside Northolmes School is being used by parents dropping off/picking up and is now a muddy churned up mess. The mud has been spread onto the pavement reducing the space for pedestrians. The verge either needs tarmacing to allow parking or preventative measures such as bollards being placed.

Updates

  • Update from March 2023

Thank you for your email, I called to site yesterday and inspected the grass verges and took photos and measurements, Unfortunately we only repair rutted verges when the ruts are over 100mm deep and we no longer install posts to stop verge parking or overrun, Horsham District Council are responsible for keeping the roads and footpaths clean and can be contacted directly if mud or any debris needs sweeping up.

    Kind Regards

    WSCC
