Large tree branch overhanging footpath & road
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 12:13, Friday 24 March 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4353921.
Behind the lampost on Glastonbury Close (BR5 4LF) A branch of the tree that overhangs the public footpath and road has been marked in orange paint for some time (Same as many on Orpington By-pass/Court Road), presumably to be cut back. When is this going to happen?

After thorough inspection of this tree, the responsible London Borough of Bromley Tree Officer used orange paint to help identify the required works assigned to our tree surgeon contractors. We cannot give dates when the appropriate works will be undertaken. If our contractors require extra space for parking their work vehicles, they will place a sign here in advance.

As of Sunday 09 April 2023 this issue has not been fixed as you can see by the latest photograph. This is the only tree that has been marked in Glastonbury Close and is not difficult to find. Does anybody actually check when issues are reported fixed or just rely on the contractors word?

We do review and monitor our contractor's works. We have a robust process for this. This tree is easy to find and the contractor will undertake the fell as required. This fell is still with the contractor to complete. The reason this enquiry appears as closed is that a smaller cut back of a smaller tree was attached to the enquiry and that has been reported as completed. This enquiry will remain closed because the works are in hand to fell the tree in due course..
