It's over a month on and nothing has been done about these: They are getting much worse. When there's a fatality due to cars / cyclists swerving to avoid them, I hope this report can be used to hold the council accountable.

Thank you for your further comments regarding this issue. Bromley are aware of the significant volume of works raised and outstanding with our contractor and we are continuing to monitor and liaise with them over this outstanding schedule of works. Our Officers are not able to give precise timeframes to individual jobs at this moment but are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues. We will continue to work with our contractor to ensure that all outstanding jobs are addressed as quickly as they are able.

Maybe you could pay the contractors some of the £2.5 million you've made from yellow box fines (of which the yellow box in this EXACT location was in the top two) this past year? That might hurry them up a bit? In any case, this has all been screen grabbed and will be used as evidence when an accident inevitably happens here due to Bromley Council's negligence and dereliction of duty.

Bromley Council, please advise how we can get a specific update on this, rather than just copy-and-paste template responses, which we know are being rolled out as a delaying tactic. Do we need to submit a freedom of information request to find out which contractors you use and what timescales have been discussed / set in place? This has gone on for way too long now and it needs to be escalated: you need to provide some transparency in terms of timescales because residents aren't willing to put up with this any longer.

More info here for anyone that wants to follow it up: the council uses JB Riney as a contractor, and if you want to make a formal complaint and / or register your concerns with the council re this pothole and others in the area, you can do so by emailing csc@bromley.gov.uk. They have to respond within five days. The more people that contact them, the more chance we have of getting these issues fixed. (Sadly, it looks like people power / pressure is the only route left now: the fact we pay millions in council tax on top of all the funding they've been granted from government to fix these issues is having no effect.)

Bromley council someone is going to die as a result of your negligence. this pothole is now a genuine risk to life - it was reported two months ago; you acknowledged it then and said your contractors would sort it.....and nothing has been done. it's now a genuine risk to life. you are going to get sued,

Bromley Council, please provide an update on this. The road needs to be shut now really, as this is such a hazard. If you cannot deal with it, who do we escalate this to?

Does anyone know how we can escalate this? Bromley Council aren't fit for purpose and the road is literally crumbling and caving in. It could have been fixed easily when it was first reported but now the potholes have merged and there are huge craters in the road. It needs urgent attention before someone dies as a result of cars swerving to avoid it. Anyone know how we go over the council to get it fixed?

This road has now totally crumbled. How awful that it could have been easily fixed two months ago but it's been left to disintegrate. I feel so sad now to live in this borough; it used to be amazing up until very recently: what changed, does anyone know?

Bromley Council you will be 100% responsible when someone is seriously injured as a result of these potholes. They were reported in March. They've been repeatedly reported at regular intervals since as they've been left to get worse and worse and worse. It's now May and you're still doing nothing. You should be so deeply ashamed of yourselves. Please god don't reply to this with yet another template response saying your contractor is working on it: we all know by now that that's a lie.

Maybe use some of this cash to pay for it...? (In today's Daily Mail.) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ news/ article-12062603/ The-single-yellow-box-makes-London-council-1M-fines.html

Various potholes on the street. TFL does not fix this road according to their website and it is council to make the repairs.

Bromley Council you need to give a specific date for when this is going to be fixed. Now. It's been three months since it was reported. Residents' patience with you has run out. You need to act or we will fix it ourselves.

You are referred to LBB's previous reply, above: Thank you for your further comments regarding this issue. Our Officers are not able to give precise timeframes to individual jobs at this moment but are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues. We will continue to work with our contractor to ensure that all outstanding jobs are addressed as quickly as they are able. Works have been raised to address the potholes in this locale. The reporter is strongly advised NOT to attempt any unauthorised works to the public highway.

Just checking - when I have to get my car tyres fixed due to damage caused by these severely damaged road surfaces who do I submit my claims to at Bromley Council? My personal view is that the whole section between Tesco Elmers End and the Elmers End roundabout needs to be completely resurfaced and NOT just have a patchwork of poor repairs done - just as they always are! It's probably because it's a major route that they won't do it.

Any request for compensation relating to an issue on a Bromley maintained highway must be processed via an insurance claim process. Bromley currently have a shared Insurance Service with Sutton Council and an online claim form can be completed and submitted via Sutton’s website: https://www.sutton.gov.uk/ info/ 200436/ customer_services/ 1146/ insurance_service/ 2

This is laughable and the BBC have now been notified.
Your happy to fix side roads but not a Major road and yet this happens on this stretch every year. Can’t wait to see how you wiggle out of this one !
