Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4332958.

Even on a daily basis traffic at this junction, since the widening if the footpath and relocation of the yellow box and bus stops, is appalling! Now, with roadworks and 3 way traffic lights just past Tubbenden Lane, it is causing absolute chaos!!! The bus stops have not been suspended, therefore, causing major issues with traffic flowing up and down station road and exiting the junction at Tubbenden Lane. It seems that whoever designed this junction does not appreciate the difficulties experienced in trying to exit Tubbenden Lane when busses are stopped in both boxes! This junction is very poorly designed and, I’m sure, would be better with either one or both of the bus stops being moved or removed!

  • The north footway needed widening but it has been extended too far. The junction regularly grid-locks when buses stop, which is delaying multiple bus services to and from Orpington Stn bus stand. Queues often go back to Orpington High St Rbt and beyond Newstead Ave the other way. This is also adding to pollution for those waiting at the bus stops.

  • Works are scheduled for late summer to widen the road at the station to provide free slow of traffic when busses are stopped.
