Street Light

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 15:30, Mon 3 February 2014 ; (there is no pin shown as the user did not use the map)

Sent to Powys Council 5 minutes later

This Street light is located near four houses, about 150 metres beyond the post office, and has been broken for over two years. It has a number CL23, and is the only street light on this stretch of road beyond the village. We have hoped that the council would pick this up but feel that it has been overlooked. The light is really well placed for visitors arriving and departing this small habitated area, near a small lane junction, and would help to make this sometimes icey and snow covered and somewhat isolated from the village area safer and more comfortable to walk in the dark.

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 16:24, Mon 3 March 2014

  • I have recently spoken to someone on the Council's staff regarding another matter to do with waste and took the opportunity to ask this question.
I was advised that the light had been turned off to save money. However I understand that the Council are fitting these lights with Low Energy lights and she said that she would report the particulars of this lights location in the hope that it would be re-connected. I still await the job to be done.

  • I am pleased to hear someone reported this to the dept responsible, and hope this will be dealt with soon.
As yet we are still in the dark
