Cintra Park Litter after football

Reported via Android in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 21:09, Saturday 18 March 2023

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4329559.

Just wondered what the council think about the volume of litter left on Cintra Park football pitches on a Saturday after the football training finishes ?

Today it was particularly messy, littered with discarded plastic water bottles and cans, but actually, it's like this every time time after the football finishes. It is a real shame that something as positive for the community as the football at Cintra Park can't then also encourage good citizenship by ensuring that the residual litter left is collected once the sessions are over.

We walk our dog at Cintra park twice a day, not only do we pick up our dog's poos, but we also regularly pick up the discarded water bottles, cans and other rubbish too. We really shouldn't need to do this, if only the people who do such an excellent job coaching the football also took responsibility for the state of the park after their sessions are over. There is no shortage of bins at the park and the council really do an excellent job of emptying them daily so there is always plenty of space in them, therefore, no excuse for people not to use them.

Can anyone in your department at Reading Council pass on this feedback to the football organisers please ?
