Chevron marks dulled out

Reported via desktop in the Road Marking category anonymously at 07:44, Monday 6 March 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4285076.

The Chevron markers are very faded which gives the impression the road is a duel carriageway. When Police are conducting speed checks here drivers are very ignorant to the speed of the road. Could repeater 30mph signs be added to this area. Drivers comment, in ignorance, it's a duel carriage and it's 40mph. The chevrons are near the airport cafe. 30mph signs are well down on Saltbox Hill and round by the entrance to the airport near Leaves Green.

  • This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.

Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities. This report is now closed on FixMyStreet and our Traffic Management Team will consider this matter.
