Tesco Express dumping metal stock cages on pavement (again)

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 15:09, Thursday 2 March 2023

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4277085.

Tesco Express, 229 Dumbarton Rd (0345 674 6382). To complain: 0800 591 688 Email CEO: dave.lewis@uk.tesco.com.

They simply refuse to keep these cages (and bags and a plastic trolley today) within their site boundary or within their premises.

This is getting tedious. Repeat offending, repeated reports, and happening for at least 2 years . If it’s now OK for Tesco to leave their junk of public pavements, please confirm and we can all get in on the action.

Else, start charging them rent and rates for extending their business premises onto public pavements. Else fine them, and keep fining them until they stop. And if they don’t stop, remove their trading licence and let a more socially responsible business move in to Partick.

I appreciate enforcement officers are over-stretched and now being (remarkably) reduced, but all it should take is a phone call to the branch and to their head office to end this once and for all. Thanks.
