Surface water

Reported via iOS in the Other (non-highways) category by Matt R at 16:01, Mon 27 February 2023

Sent to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4268021.

Massive volume of water not draining away properly and backing up into the street, flooding manholes and other street level furniture, such as electrical or telecom installations.

While this area is prone to flooding, the volume of stationary water is not proportional to the rainfall or to the underlying water table. There’s a potential that the changes to the river structure built this autumn by the EA at Flashetts have adversely impacted the surface water sewers in this road. I’ll send a picture to illustrate later.
