Tree hugely overgrown

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 20:21, Sun 26 February 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4265605.

This large tree in front of our house (9 Waldegrave road) is very overgrown. In the autumn storm branches fell off and caused thousands of pounds of damage to our roof, broke the telephone wire and one large branch remains unsafely planted into our front garden. It remains too big and is in need of pruning otherwise I fear more branches could fall on people, cars or houses. Please could this be arranged before the greenery returns? I did report this at the time on the phone and online but have had no response. Many thanks

  • Hi, it’s not almost a year since this was first reported which is significantly longer than the time frames you have on your website. During a recent storm a branch hit my father in the face and thankfully he wasn’t injured. Each storm that arrives I worry about what will happen. Please could you give me a definitive date for it to be pruned before someone is seriously hurt?

  • My apologies this enquiry has an unresolved status. It is not possible to give an exact time frame for completion of the works as we are currently working through all the storm clearance following three recent storms. The works have been re-issued to the contractor who is in hand to undertake them as a priority.

  • Hi, thanks for trimming the tree. The contractors mentioned that there was mould on the tree and it could be rotten inside. They said they would have to do a report and update you but that it might need further work. It is large and close to our house so concerning to us. Please could you update us in the status of the tree after their report?
