• Please give brief details of your complaint or compliment below:: Hello, This may not be the correct forum to discuss a 'roads / potholes' issue so please pass to the relevant dept if necessary. The condition of some of our main roads is way off what is acceptable. I have nearly been thrown from my bike on several occasions due to potholes and having to swerve to avoid them. It seems to me that some responsibility for these conditions lies with the various utility companies who are forever digging up the roads for whatever purpose and then resurfacing with low quality tarmac. They should be forced to use product that will last, not just patch and bodge. There are three key roads that absorb heavy traffic and desperately need attention. Crofton Rd from Ormonde Ave to Locksbottom Crofton Lane from Crofton Rd to Crofton Junior school Orpington High Street which is a total mess. These three roads should be completely resurfaced and if the Utility companies want to make repairs & dig holes for whatever reason, they should be responsible for meeting certain standards. Rant over, I hope something will be done to improve the condition of min routes.

Potholes are definitely there as I drove by this morning. They have not been attended to. I note they were reported in February. How much do we have to wait please? Local Councillors also advised.

Apologies for the late response. While we appreciate your comments regarding the road condition and utility works we cannot stop utilities carrying out essential works. There work quality is assessed after completion and any issues within their guarantee period would be referred back to the relevant utility to correct at their cost. In general the road network is suffering from issues due to weather conditions prior to and just after the New Year. This isn’t isolated to Bromley and an issue for most Local Authorities at this time. Please report individual defects of concern on FMS so they can be assessed for repair. There are a significant volume of works raised currently with our contractor and we are continuing to monitor and liaise with them over their outstanding schedule of works. While we are not able to give precise timeframes for individual jobs at this moment we are continuing to undertake regular safety inspections and check any reported issues to us. We are working with our contractor closely to ensure that all outstanding jobs are addressed as quickly as they are able.
