Flooded Road
Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 16:20, Mon 20 January 2014
Sent to North Hertfordshire District Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 425603.
At the bottom of Cowslip Hill above the pix brook area the road becomes flooded during heavy rains simply because the drains on both side of the road are blocked. One one side it is solid with leaves and dirt the other I cant see. It floods right across the road and often over the path. The brook has no bearing on this problem as its quite a bit lower than the road. As the road is quite busy its not good trying to pass with the baby in push chair, trying to miss the spray. Unfortunately it will be a challenge for the council to clean the drains as quite often cars are parked across one of the drains.

We watched the road cleaner go down Cowslip Hill but because of all the commuter cars part on one side of the road the road remained uncleaned on the blocked side. The company missed the opportunity during the underground strike as the road was clear of commuter cars. The only way to sweep the road properly would be to do it on Saturday. The drains have not been touched

Cowslip Hill was once again completely flooded at its lowest point yesterday , the water was quite deep and covered all the road most of the day. It is still extremely muddy and wet there today and difficult to walk on path. Please can something be done to prevent this occurring every time we get heavy rain. Because the road has parking all along one side from station users it makes driving extremely difficult.
