Parking Issues
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 18:30, Saturday 18 February 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4244371.
A number of households appear to be using the main grass area of Valley View (Lusted end) to drive over and/or park on leaving the grass churned up and the pavement width restricted. Maybe an idea to insert wooden posts at the edge to prevent in future as further up?

As of 2/6/23 still being driven over, a van is parked up on the grass, having driven over the green to get there. There is also a skip placed on the grass which has now been there for several weeks, probably killing the grass underneath it and certainly compacting the ground.

As of 3/7/23 still being driven over, a van & car have been parked up on the grass, having driven over the green to get there. There is also a skip placed on the grass which has now been there for another month, probably killing the grass underneath it and certainly compacting the ground.
Whatever the appropriate action taken was it has not worked at all.

As of 19/7/23 still being driven over, a van & car have been parked up on the grass of the central green part of Valley View, having both driven over the green to get there. This is almost a daily occurrence. There is also a skip placed on the grass which has now been there for ages.
Clearly whatever the appropriate action taken was it has not worked at all or is being ignored.
As originally suggested wooden posts blocking vehicle access to the central grass area maybe the only option.
This is not fixed.

Def still an issue, a black car has been parked on the grass for weeks, others regularly drive on and park on the grass.

At 27/9 there is a patch of dead, compacted grass where the skip was left for several weeks. There is another patch of dead grass where the black car was parked for weeks.
Now there are two builders vans driving over the grass and parked up on it which along with a number of other cars that regularly drive over it has left the grass churned up with tyre tracks.
It is such a shame that that what was once a lovely well maintained grassy area is being treated in this way.
Whatever "Appropriate action has been taken to resolve the issue" is has not worked and people are clearly not taking any notice of LBB!

Plans are afoot to introduce more permanent posts to deter this illegal procedure of crossing the footway/verge. In the meantime the councils enforcement team are actively looking to gain evidence first hand of the offenders in the act of crossing illegally.
