Dangerous zebra crossing

Reported via Android in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:28, Wed 8 February 2023

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4215912.

This zebra crossing is an accident waiting to happen. The flashing light post is gone and there are barely any visible zebra lines. Since the removal of the crossing patrol man after lockdown, I have witnessed multiple occasions of speeding traffic and vehicles not stopping for pedestrians. I am surprised no one has been injured already. This crossing is used by children from both Richmond Primary school and Redmoor academy and is heavily used. It has been weeks and weeks since the flashing light post and waste bin were knocked down. Apart from them being removed and the hole in the ground being badly patched, there has been no sign of replacement. The crossings zebra lines are barely visible anymore aswell so between that and the lack of lighting, it's no wonder cars aren't stopping.
