Vandalized walkway, dismal and oppressive
Reported via desktop in the Public Right of Way footpath category anonymously at 16:42, Wednesday 8 February 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
The pavement is uneven in places and some stones have been taken leaving holes. The area has dumped tree cuttings on the raised bed that runs most of the length of the footpath. The area is dirty with general rubbish, broken bottles and glass. There are large overhanging tree branches which make it dark and very un-inviting. Graffiti on doors. This is making the area look grubby and a crime hotspot.

Nothing has been done on this area. It's clear the path was not swept since I put the report in. I saw people working in the area but not where I have mentioned. You will need a low load lorry/Van to carry away the bits of tree. It looks like a giant compost heap in the making.

Thank you for your additional comments. The area mentioned in the original report was litter picked, swept and cleared 16.02.23 by our service provider. Can you supply any further information on the location along with any photos which may help us resolve this issue.

There are other photos I can send. Seems only 3 allowed. This is called Love lane. The over hanging branches are more towards the civic centre. The Felled tree bits are left on the raised bed area where most of the rubbish is. It's clear no one has done any cleaning here for a long while.

The immediate start of the ally way was cleaned. Bricks were replaced but no one went up the lane. There was no change to the pavement dirt. There is rubbish still in the bits of tree which have been dumped on the raised bed. There is rubbish strewn in the bits of tree and ivy. Graffiti. I've seen mini sweep vehicles cleaning pavements by the runway at Biggin Hill and in Park Langley. Surely one of these could be used to keep the old leaves and dirt from the pavement.

The pavement looks so much better. Graffiti has been attacked but someone has already tagged a door. This fells much better to walk along and less oppressive. The let down is the raised bed. There is more rubbish which looks fly tipped. The bits of tree dumped there looks awful still and the whole bed needs a makeover.

No. The raised bed is exactly the same, covered it trees and detritus. Since the path was cleared within a week or so it has been made filthy again. There are broken bottles at either end of the raised beds and more litter, large amount of foil, dumped. The area needs attention as it's clearly encouraging anti social behaviour.
