Trees overhanging into garden

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 08:56, Tue 7 February 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4210272.

I have an enquiry with regards to 2 trees outside my property and hope you can help.

The trees in question lean heavily over into my rear garden (at least 3 metres) and have a dominance over the lawn which is also resulting in damage to the lawn and fence. I am not aware of any recent maintenance since 2018 and wanted to clarify if these trees are scheduled for pruning in the next coming months?

Best Regards,

Samantha

  • Hello,

Are you able to provide any update on this? The trees will soon be in full bloom and surely easier to work on before this happens.

  • Thank you for your comments. I am sorry it is not possible to give an exact time frame for completion given the volume of works raised each day. The works are in hand to be completed by the contractor. Thank you for your patience whilst we work to resolve your enquiry.

  • Please advise when the tree works will be carried out? For the last few months these have been falling from the tree daily. I clean up every night as I have a dog and the pieces are very sharp for my dogs paws. I literally filled the garden waste bin last Monday with these pieces from the tree. I reported this 6 months ago.

  • Fruit fall is part of the tree’s natural yearly life cycle and happens over a relatively short period during the course of a year and any temporary inconvenience has to be balanced against the benefits the trees bring to an urban environment. The works raised for this enquiry is in hand to be completed by the contractor, thank you for your continued patience.

  • Please advise when this work will be completed. It’s almost 12 months since first reported. Now is ideal time for this work before the trees bloom and the birds nest. The amount of branches blown off from the overgrown trees and the recent storms is staggering and all fallen into my garden.

  • Thank you for your comments. We have had a high volume of tree related damage following the three recent storms which the teams are working through. A team will attend site as soon as possible.

  • Please accept our apologies for the delays. These works have been removed from our incumbent contractor and given to a third party contractor. We anticipate these will be completed within the next 6 to 8 weeks.

  • This morning, some tree surgeons arrived around 11am. They knocked on my door (nobody was home and I wasn’t able to speak with them on the Ring doorbell). From the looks of it they could not access the car park (Coney Hall Rec) with the height of their vehicle and did not have a key to open the barrier. Please kindly advise when they might return. I am happy for you to provide the contractors with my telephone number and email address to try and help access with my garden. Many thanks. Sam.
