Critalls Corner - Depressing amount of litter

Reported via mobile in the Street Cleansing and Litter category anonymously at 20:42, Sunday 5 February 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

This report relates to the section of roundabout (including the roundabout itself), pavements, verges, in undergrowth and bushes, on traffic islands, slip ways, under A20 flyover, roads leading into roundabout, fence-lines, basically everywhere… ALL within the LB Bromley Boundary.

The litter and rubbish blighting this roundabout and area is ridiculous - how on earth has it been allowed to get this bad?

Please can you arrange for a full and thorough litter-pick and clean of the roundabout and its environs. Please do not close report until area has been cleaned.

  • Hello. I have also reported to Bexley so they can clean areas that they have duristiction over. However I would appreciate this report being kept open until your contractor has cleaned the areas in question within Bromley. Thank you.

  • Good morning and thank you for your additional comments. Work has commenced to action the items that have been raised. However, as this relates to multiple service providers not all items will be able to be actioned immediately.

We continuously endeavour to monitor our sections of fast-moving dual carriageways with a view to maintaining the area wherever and whenever possible, but with the appropriate safety permits and arrangements in place from TfL which prohibit a very frequent attendance.

Our relatively small section of the A20 near the Sidcup by-pass and trunk roads is subject to mechanical sweeping operations in accordance with the planned sweeping schedule. Cleansing or litter picking beyond that which cannot be cleared through mechanical sweeping can only be carried out in conjunction with TfL and their service providers with suitable traffic management and permitS to ensure the safety of our contractor’s operatives and the public on this stretch of fast-moving dual carriageway.

Given the inter-reliance on multiple organisations to implement the necessary traffic management we are not able to provide schedules or timeframes as to when action can be undertaken, and this report will now be closed on FMS where any reported cleansing issues will be addressed and when we are next able to attend.

    State changed to: Internal referral
