Poo bags

Reported via Android in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 13:53, Sunday 5 February 2023

Sent to Cardiff Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4205092.

Every week this bin gets filled with litter and then dog poo bags very quickly. It spend most of the week looking like this due to people Just throwing poo bags and litter next to the bin and then the bin is ripped apart by seagulls leaving this mess for the best part of 5 days a week. Can I just reccomend that the bin is taken away completely. Whilst I understand the bin gets emptied regularly it's just not big enough to take the volume of litter. We have currently an issue with rats in this area that have been reported by other neighbours and this is not helping the matter.

Updates

  • Surely the answer isn't to remove the bin, but to put up more bins?

People are prepared to use the bin. They carry their litter/dog mess until they reach a bin, but when the bin is full they leave the litter next to the bin. More bins will result in the litter being spread out across all bins so they need emptying less often and there'll be less litter on the floor.
