  • Contractors attended on 6th Sept and stated that they could not make required repairs due to the presence of tree roots. The same comments were received from contractors who visited a couple of months ago. There has also been a recent inspection of the area as it has been clearly marked up. It has been obvious from the outset that there are tree roots present. Contractors have not been seen since 6th Sept and l now can’t access the drive to No 47, which invalidates my car insurance. I assume LB of Bromley will assume liability in the event of loss or damage to my car which consequently is parked on the road.

  • Please note correction to date of attendance of contractors - should read 6th October and not September.

  • Contractors attended today 16 Oct to address issue. I am concerned about the relocation of the corner kerb stone which has moved nearer to the drive entrance to no.47 Greencourt - there is a clear marking line that has been drawn previously. With the height of the kerb stone plus its relocated position there is the distinct possibility of damaging the under carriage of my car when turning onto the driveway. I shall raise this with the contractor on their expected return on 17 Oct. However l have expressed my concerns to LB of Bromley through this reporting medium.

  • Contractor laid cement on area in front of driveway to no.47 on 17 Oct. However the quality of work is poor. Small pavers on edge of road have been completely cemented over. Cement is also over the water meter cover. I was advised by the contractor attending site today 20 Oct. to report in the poor quality of workmanship.

  • Roots still haven’t been removed. Barriers have now been in place for 2 weeks and are an hazard as constantly blowing over. Approach to driveway to no.47 still in unacceptable condition. Requires someone at right level of authority to inspect and take required action.

  • Sat 04/11/2023 15:13 • Customer/reference number if you have one:: 4184249 • Please give brief details of your complaint or compliment below:: In summary an old tree was removed in December 2022, however the deep roots belonging to the tree were not removed at the same time. This left an exposed ridge of uneven tarmac which presented a hazard. This issue was first reported via FixMyStreet in January. Despite several reminders remedial action was taken by LB of Bromley until August. Between August and October several visits were made to site by contractors and on each occasion works could not be completed due to the presence of tree roots - the presence of which had been known from the outset. Those contractor staff attending also appeared unsure of what they were supposed to be doing. For over 2 weeks now the footpath outside 47 Greencourt Road has been dug up. Temporary barriers have been left which have all blown over presenting a hazard to both pedestrians and vehicles and for some unknown reason the approach to the driveway of no.47 has been screeded over with concrete to an appallingly and unacceptable standard. The current position is totally unacceptable especially given the fact that this was first reported 10 months ago. • What action (if any) would you like us to take?: I would like a member of LB of Bromley staff to take ownership of this issue to ensure completion to an acceptable standard • Have you already spoken to somebody in the Council about this matter?: yes • If yes, and you know who you spoke to please provide details and dates:: My wife spoke to a member of your customer service team called Katie on 23rd October regarding the general quality of work. Photos were also provided.
