Tesco cluttering up pavement (yet again)

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:57, Sunday 29 January 2023

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4182368.

Another year, same old issue, now much worse. No less than 15 large metal stock cages on the pavement right at a public crossing today - busy mid-afternoon, weekend.

This behaviour has been raised umpteen times over the last few years. At best the council drop by once, end of. Wait a few months and the Tesco management are back at it - they do not care.

Do they pay additional business rates for using the public pavement as an extension of their premises? Is everyone allowed to leave whatever they want on pavements now?

Why have the council not cracked down hard given the usual quiet word in ear GCC response clearly does not work and is never going to. Definitive action is needed with follow-up checks.

If there's no end to this behaviour in the next month, a formal complaint goes in.

Oh and the street bin outside the shop is also overflowing. I trust not with their commercial waste...
